Love your enemies -all of them

Do you think that when you go to bed at night and there are all kinds of thoughts running through your mind, especially things that happened during the day, especially negative things, that it’s just your over active mind? Not at all. It’s an attack from the enemy. The enemy does not want you to have peace under any circumstances and every chance he can get to disturb your peace, he will.

Yesterday I spoke to a friend about an incident that had happened. I had actually decided to put the whole thing behind me because it is negative and I don’t need negative in my life. But because she had been away I told her. Last night I couldn’t sleep properly until I had broken off soul ties…….again!! These spirits are very powerful. I think I have enough experience to know that it isn’t just my mind wandering. This was such an attack.

We have to keep our minds and our hearts clean we cannot allow the enemy one millimetre of ground. The spirits that are all over are always watching and take the opportunity wherever they see a door open. It has to be just a little bit open, just a crack is enough.

Even thinking about the wrong things is dangerous.

Philippians 4:7, and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.

This verse is so profound. It just says it all. Look at the preceding 3 verses:

Rejoice in the Lord always. Again I will say, rejoice!

Let your gentleness be known to all men. The Lord is at hand.

Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God;

And then of course we have verse 8 and 9 of the same chapter:

Finally, brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy—meditate on these things. The things which you learned and received and heard and saw in me, these do, and the God of peace will be with you.

This is such a wonderful instruction not matter what the circumstances. Firstly, we must rejoice, and be gentle, always. Then we ask God for the things we need, with a thankful heart.  By making a conscious decision not to be anxious, God is going to bless you with supernatural peace. And then we have the instruction to keep our minds free from anxiety by thinking about things that are positive and uplifting. It’s as easy at that! Well, when you say it fast it sounds very easy. It is an ongoing process to keep our minds and our hearts free from stress. It is a very conscious decision we have to make.

Every single time we are offended by another person, every time we are falsely accused, every time we are lied to and every time we take exception to something, we have to realise that we are in danger of stepping into enemy territory. That door is opening just a little and we are inviting emotions in which are not lovely or honourable. We are playing with the devil’s toys and very soon we might be inviting his minions into our mind.

Matthew 5:43-48  “You have heard that it was said, ‘You shall love your neighbor and hate your enemy.’ But I say to you, love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who spitefully use you and persecute you, that you may be sons of your Father in heaven; for He makes His sun rise on the evil and on the good, and sends rain on the just and on the unjust. For if you love those who love you, what reward have you? Do not even the tax collectors do the same? And if you greet your brethren only, what do you do more than others? Do not even the tax collectors do so? Therefore you shall be perfect, just as your Father in heaven is perfect.

If this is what Jesus did and tells us to do, who are we to do any differently?
